Beginning with Sage Timeslips 2017, all future releases will run on the Firebird SQL platform. After 18 years, the BDE database engine is being retired; a change for the better. BDE had size limitations that ran out of gas with more than 4 to 5 users. The new Firebird platform means much better performance for everyone, especially organizations of 5 or more!
Though Timeslips 2017 is moving to a subscription model, Sage will continue to offer a license-only option for users not ready to make the change. There’s no word on pricing yet—stay tuned for more information.
More new features in Sage Timeslips 2017:
- The Billing Assistant, A/R forms, and list views have all been redesigned.
- Budgets have been redesigned. Calculating budgets is significantly faster and can be quickly duplicated for multiple client use.
- New database platform will improve overall performance and speed.
With all of these changes, using Timeslips will be more efficient and easier to use than ever. If you have questions about how these changes will affect or benefit your organization, schedule a one-on-one with me.
